TEMPEST LITTLE
Tempest Little is the mother of three children. She always dreamed of having her own cleaning business to pass on to her children, so she created a business plan that now has become a reality. This year, Tempest started her business with one client, thanks to a referral from Ms. Gayle and Rainbow Housing. Now, she has more than ten clients. Next, Tempest wants to hire one of her Trestletree neighbors. Her overall goal is to turn the business into one that will help others learn how to own their own business and achieving financial stability. Tempest shared, “If I can start my own business, anyone can. You just have to stay focused, write your plan and see it all come together.”
JAMEKA MITCHELL
Jameka Mitchell is a mother of two who moved into Trestletree Village in December 2016 after being homeless. Ms. Mitchell was very discouraged and uncertain about her future. Since joining our Trestletree community, she is attending GED classes and just passed the math and reading test. Her son will be attending Pre-K at Ormewood Charter School this winter. Ms. Mitchell is more confident about her life and is thankful for all the opportunities that Ms. Gayle (RSC) and the Trestletree community have given her. She cried every day for weeks because she was so happy with her accomplishments.
